Admissions

All children aged 3+ are able to start school in our nursery class at the earliest available entry date following the child’s third birthday. This may be September, January or April. Pupils can attend nursery free of charge for fifteen hours or thirty hours per week with the introduction of the new 30 hours funding Government scheme. All children aged 4+ are able to start school in Reception class in September each year.

There are 60 part-time places available in Nursery and 45 places available throughout the rest of school. Parents are advised to apply for a school place as early as possible. Applications for each September should be in by the end of the first week in the previous December. The school follows the Local Authority’s admissions policy. Places will be allocated by the local Authority. Parents of nursery children will be contacted in Mid-May and parents of reception children will be contacted in Mid-April to notify them if their child has a place for September. Offers should be taken or rejected as soon as possible. Parents have a right to appeal.

New parents will receive a welcome pack in the post in May/June. It is our policy for staff to visit new Nursery and Reception class pupils and parents in their home setting prior to them starting school. Visits to the school are also encouraged and all parents of new children will be invited to an open afternoon in school.
